The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is the body approved by the Department for Education who is responsible for the inspection of schools in membership of the Associations of the Independent Schools Council. Inspection is for the benefit of the pupils and students, and seeks to improve the quality and effectiveness of their education and care. ISI inspects all provision in Association independent schools, including Early Years Foundation Stage. Inspection findings are presented in reliable and objective reports.
The school received a Compliance Only inspection in November 2017 which reports on the school’s compliance with the Independent School Standards Regulations. The standards represent the minimum requirements and judgements are given either as met or as not met. All schools are required to meet all the standards applicable to them. Where the minimum requirements are not met this is clearly indicated in the relevant section of the report and the school is required to take the actions specified. The report confirms that Newland House School has met all the required standards.
The school is delighted with the inspection findings, following the October 2013 inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). See highlights and comments from the Head below.
Throughout the school, the quality of the pupils’ achievements and learning is excellent. All pupils, develop highly effectively in their knowledge, understanding and skills across a broad range of subjects and activities.
