Trips
There can be little doubt that travel presents a wonderful opportunity for children to broaden their horizons, experience different cultures and peoples, learn to live together with friends outside the home environment and have a great deal of fun too.
At Newland House there are many opportunities for children to travel overseas and also within the UK. Most school trips are well established and operate on a regular basis.

Iceland Trip: Every two years in July there is a trip to discover Iceland. This includes visits to Vatnajokull, which is the world’s third largest ice cap, Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, several stunning waterfalls, Gigojokull glacier, Kerio explosion crater, Geysir, Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon. French Trip: At the end of August the Year Seven boys visit Chateau de la Baudonniere in Normandy. The idea behind the trip is for the boys to immerse themselves in the French language in a friendly, supportive environment for a week. There are also visits to a British War Cemetery and the Bayeux Tapestry. To see more pictures Click Here.UK Trips: There is also a series of residential school trips nearer to home. There are leavers’ trips for senior boys and girls in the summer term. There is a Year Five girls’ camping weekend and an Art Field trip. Members of the Shell Eco Marathon team spend several days away competing with the school cars at the Rockingham Oval.
For these trips to operate as successfully as they do we rely on the dedication, expertise and enthusiasm of numerous members of the teaching staff who give so willingly of their time out of school.
