Planning

Newland House School, after extensive public consultation and discussions with the Council, is seeking planning permission for the relocation of the junior school to Number 28 Waldegrave Park. The school is delighted with the design which, as you will see from the attached illustration, is considered a fine addition to the streetscape and, in its scale and materials, is respectful of its neighbours.  It is regarded as a major improvement on the previous application because the team has listened to all parties and incorporated their requirements wherever possible and appropriate.  The former application was rejected primarily over the design of the elevation to Waldegrave Park which has now been addressed to officers' satisfaction. The Council's Independent Design Panel strongly endorsed the design in advance of the application being made. The plans would enable the School to increase the number of pupils only by the same number as the previous application.

We would invite you to see the plans that are on display in the school.  This will enable you to be the judge of the quality of the application and the low impact it will have on the environment. The application was made only after all the stakeholders, and in particular the immediate neighbours, had been consulted and the road traffic issues had been addressed to the Council's satisfaction and fully met their established requirements. The length of time taken to put forward the application reflects the care that has been taken in incorporating all the comments and concerns that have been expressed to the team during the design process.

Please do visit with us to see what is proposed. We will be holding further consultation evenings and we will inform local residents  of these. For any further information please contact the Bursary on 020 8865 1222.

We strongly believe that we are providing something of which the school and future generations of parents will be proud.

Sir Gordon Langley
Chairman of Governors
Newland House School
